Problem Skin Acne
Acne is a skin condition which affects not only the physical but also the social and emotional aspects of the life of an individual. Aside from experiencing bodily discomfort and pain, those who have this condition are usually bound to encounter emotional distress that can be self-inflicted and/or caused by others.
Regardless of its severity, acne can cause social and emotional problems especially to teenagers. This is due to the fact that acne often becomes prevalent among young adults who are in a crucial stage wherein they are finding and developing their own personalities. The first problem caused by acne affects body image and self-esteem. Acne patients become embarrassed to appear in public and may resort to using excessive make-up and growing their hair long. The second problem concerns relationships. Most individuals who have this skin condition encounter difficulties in establishing relationships particularly with the opposite gender. Some extreme cases even result to social phobia. The third problem involves education and employment. Some students skip school because of acne, which negatively affects their academic performance. Those who are looking for jobs may have trouble finding one due to their low self-confidence.
However, there is a way to overcome these crises. The first step in solving the problems caused by skin acne is by accepting its existence. Many people cannot start recovering from the effects brought by acne because they refuse to face the truth and are in absolute denial. Recognizing the existence of the acne problem clears up most of the emotional turmoil brought about by the skin condition. Once the psychological aspect has been attended to, an individual can then proceed in searching for possible acne skin care solutions and forming a daily routine for the treatment. |
