Retin A Acne

Retin A is a brand name of a cream or gel which contains Tretinoin, a drug that effectively treats acne. Basically, what Retin A does is to help heal acne scars and prevent the appearance of new pimples.

Before using Retin A to minimize acne, a person needs to consult a dermatologist and ask for a diagnosis. The person must remember to inform the dermatologist about any other medication he is taking as this may have an effect when taken alongside the drug.

After consulting a dermatologist and deciding to use the said acne skin care treatment, a person can then acquire it from a drugstore. He should carefully read the instructions provided with the package before applying the drug. The treatment should always begin with a thorough facial wash. Afterwards, he can apply a thin coating of Retin A on his face. He must make sure that his hands are clean before doing so. He can also use a clean cotton bud instead of his hands. Finally, he should wash his hands after putting the medication on his face. The best time for this regimen is during nighttime before going to bed. However, a person must have a sleeping position wherein his face will not rub against the pillow if he decides to apply the medication before bedtime.

Lastly, a person will see significant results after faithfully doing the said regimen for two weeks. Full results are normally attained after seven weeks. During the treatment process, he should avoid the excessive use of this product as it may cause additional skin problems and undesirable side effects.
